Major Moscow's Strikes Eliminate Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered disruption to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but strong steps - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and implementing sanctions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The strikes come after nights of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and officials were anticipating further attacks.
